The formation of the supramolecular complex (CE...M)+DPPH-, (where CE
is a crown ether like 12-C-4, 15-C-5, 18-C-6, DB 18-C-6 and DCH 18-C-6
; M is an alkaline metal ion like Li+, Na+, K+; DPPH- is the anion of
DPPH2) with a base M+HO- as a partner, with DPPH2 and with carrier CE
is an acido-basic type process occurring in two steps. The former is t
he formation of the intermediate (CE...M)+HO- by an interphase transfe
r equilibrium. The concentration of the intermediate in organic phase
depends on the nature and concentration of CE and M+HO-. The latter su
bsequent reaction in the organic phase of acid-base type between HO- i
on transferred as (CE...M)+HO- and DPPH2 results in (CE...M)+DPPH- sup
ramolecular complex whose concentration depends on the concentration o
f (CE...M)+HO- intermediate obtained in the first step.
