Platinum(II) coordination compounds containing 2-amino-5-mercapto-1,3,
4-thiadiazole 4 (AMT), 2-acetamido-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole 5 (AcM
T) and 5-ureido-1,3,4-thiadiazolyl-2-sulfonamide 6 (UTS) as ligands we
re prepared and characterised by elemental analysis, spectroscopic, co
nductometric and magnetic measurements. The complexes were tested as i
nhibitors of carbonic anhydrase, and one of them (containing the sulfo
namide) behaves as strong inhibitor.
