Abstract
The reaction of dimethyl diazomalonate with the alkenes exo-1 and endo -2 in the presence of copper (I) chloride is described. Cyclopropane d erivatives 3d and 4d are formed in competition with the generation of dimers from the initial hydrocarbon.
