Abstract
A new case of the rare os intercuneiforme (Dwight) is presented and co mpared with the two cases reported by the anatomist first describing t his bone. Taking a large series of anatomical investigations into acco unt, the frequency of occurrence for this supernumerary tarsal bone ca n be given as 0.026%. Furthermore, it is supposed that the os intercun eiforme belongs rather to the medial than to the intermediate cuneifor m.
