Abstract
A geometric approach for the formulation of the WKB expansion of multi
component wave equations is formulated for arbitrary symplectic manifo
lds. The problem is reduced as much as possible to one component equat
ions. Essential use is made of Fedosov's star product. Obstructions ag
ainst the existence of global WKB amplitudes may arise.
