The reactions between [Mo(=O){HB(3,5-Me(2)pz(3)}Cl-2] and the bifuncti
onal ligands 1,3-(HO)(2)C6H4 (1H(2)), 1,3-(HS)(2)C6H4 (2H(2)) 2,7-(HO)
(2)C10H6 (3H(2)) and 4,4'-{(HO)C6H4}(2)CH2 (4H(2)) afford the metallom
acrocycles. [Mo(=O){HB(3,5-Me(2)pz)(3)}X](2). (X = 1,2,3 and 4) and [M
o(=O){HB(3,5-Me(2)pz)(3)}X](3) (X = 1, 3 and 4). Electrochemical studi
es provide evidence for the presence of strongly interacting metal cen
