There is, at the present time, a renewal of interest (M. Pawlowski, R.
Raczka, Warsaw preprint SINS-IP/VIII/1995) in using massive nonabelia
n vector boson theories without the unobserved Higgs particle. Such th
eories violate renormalizability by power counting. They are neverthel
ess thought to be renormalizable. A review of this renormalizability p
roblem is made here in the light of gauge invariance.
