Abstract
The genus Kempnyia is endemic of the southern portion of Brazil and is represented, up to now, by 24 recognized species. Kempnyia tijucana, a new species from southeastern Brazil is described and figured, and s ome of the characters of the serrana-group of Kempnyia are discussed.
