Abstract
In 1996, 12 pairs of the Mediterranean gull (Larus melanocephalus) wer e nesting in the Hrusov water reservoir (48 degrees 02'N, 17 degrees 1 3'E). This was the second case of nesting of this species in Slovakia. The nesting in Slovakia is compared with the nesting conditions in th e neighbouring countries of the Central Europe.
