Da. Hennessy, THE RICARDIAN RENT AND THE ALLOCATION OF LAND UNDER UNCERTAINTY - COMMENT, European review of agricultural economics, 24(2), 1997, pp. 313-317
Results on the comparative statics of land rent under uncertainty publ
ished in this journal are extended. Rent increases under any first-deg
ree (second-degree) stochastically dominating shift in the random vari
able if the utility function is increasing (increasing and concave), R
ent also increases under an increasing utility function if costs at th
e initial optimum level of expected output decreases.
