Abstract
The classical approach to the study of passive films is usually concer ned with macroscopic sample surfaces, thereby neglecting the effects o f substrate crystallographic orientation on the properties of the oxid e layer. The aim of our work is to elucidate local effects, such as gr ain-dependent growth of passive films.
