We recently developed several suitable ISFET (ion selective field effe
ct transistor) devices for detecting different compounds of environmen
tal interest (ie, nitrate, anionic and cationic surfactants). Measurem
ents were performed in feedback mode by recording the gate output volt
age variation of the ISFET related to the analyte concentration in sol
ution. After a full electrochemical characterization, the new ISFETs w
ere applied to the analysis of authentic aqueous matrices of environme
ntal interest (river, lake, sea water, etc).
