Abstract
A case of a 72 year old man is reported who developed a choledochoduod enal fistula due to distal biliary obstruction by a tumor of the papil la. A metal stent, introduced through this fistula into the common bil e duet, dislodged and passed spontaneously with the feces. Plastic ste nts were then successfully inserted.
