CONGENITAL ALOPECIA-AREATA

Alopecia areata has never been documented in a newborn. Thus, it is ge nerally assumed that alopecia areata is acquired only postnatally, and it is believed that the presence of an alopecia at birth virtually ex cludes its diagnosis. In this report we document a case of alopecia ar eata in a premature newborn.
