Abstract
The linear and non-linear stability of an incompressible flat plate la minar boundary layer is investigated using a system of partial differe ntial equations which has been parabolized in the streamwise direction . Resonance between two and three-dimensional waves, which occurs befo re transition to turbulence, agrees well with experiments and Direct N umerical Simulations, especially for a flow with a strong adverse pres sure gradient.
