l-BSO injected at a sublethal dose in nymph V of Triatoma infestans pr
oduces a transient GSH depletion in the abdomen. A depletion of the to
tal content of GSH was observed in nymph II fed with a sublethal conce
ntration of l-BSO. Either ingestion or injection pretreatments of T. i
nfestans nymph V with sublethal concentrations of l-BSO produced a sli
ght synergism on the toxicity of fenitrothion. Feeding administration
of a sublethal concentration of l-BSO to nymphs II of T. infestans res
ulted in a weak potentiation of the acute toxicity of DDT.
