Abstract
There is am increased Fisk of general anesthesia ire foals with ruptur e of the urinary bladder, In the following case report clinical signs, hematological changes and changes in blood chemistry are documented. The problems during general anesthesia (complete AV-block, asystole an d cardiac fibrillation) are illustrated and the therapeutic management (reanimation) is described. This case shows the importance of preanes thetic abdominocentesis and the correction of the metabolic disorders in these foals.
