NEURO-ACANTHOCYTOSIS - A RARE CAUSE OF CHOREA

Neuro-acanthocytosis is a rare neurological disorder characterised by stereotyped chorea, especially of the mouth, areflexia and acanthocyte s seen in the peripheral blood. No cases have been described in the li terature from South Africa. We report here a case of neuro-acanthocyto sis seen in a black woman who presented to Johannesburg Hospital.
