Abstract
Policing is one of the key mechanisms used in ATM (Asynchronous Transf er Mode) networks to avoid network congestion. The HP E4223A policing and traffic characterization lest application has been developed to te st policing implementations in ATM switches before the switches are de ployed for commercial service.
