Abstract
Magnetic circular dichroism in X-ray fluorescence from ferromagnetic s ystems potentially provides unique information on valence state spin p olarization. We discuss the use of direct polychromatic radiation from the Helios II helical undulator (97%, circular polarization) to excit e the Rh 4d valence states. We also show how polychromatic radiation m ay be used to obtain dichroic resonant fluorescence under standing-wav e conditions in magnetic multilayers.
