Abstract
Sporal as well as mycelial ferritin from Absidia spinosa has been inve stigated by K-edge XAS. Both measurements can be interpreted with 6 ox ygen atoms in the first coordination sphere, which are much more order ed in the mycelial than in the sporal species. The NEXAFS analysis ind icates that the electronic structures of the iron centers are slightly different.
