Mw. Kim, SURFACE-ACTIVITY AND PROPERTY OF POLYETHYLENEOXIDE (PEG) IN WATER, Colloids and surfaces. A, Physicochemical and engineering aspects, 128(1-3), 1997, pp. 145-154
We have studied the surface activity of polyethyleneoxide (PEO) by mea
suring the reduction of the surface tension of an aqueous solution. Th
e surface adsorption of PEO is strongly dependent on the polymer molec
ular weight and the concentration. These findings are confirmed with t
he results of the ellipsometry measurement which provides the total ad
sorbed amount of the polymer. Furthermore, the changes of surface wave
s due to the adsorbed layers is detected by surface wave spectroscopy.
