A. Lipski et K. Altendorf, IDENTIFICATION OF HETEROTROPHIC BACTERIA ISOLATED FROM AMMONIA-SUPPLIED EXPERIMENTAL BIOFILTERS, Systematic and applied microbiology, 20(3), 1997, pp. 448-457
Laboratory scale biofilters were supplied with an artificial waste gas
containing ammonia and an ammonia/dimethyldisulfide mixture. 62 bacte
rial strains were isolated from the filter material, differentiated an
d identified by chemotaxonomic and physiological methods, The taxonomi
c groups were compared with known bacterial strains originating from b
iofilters which were supplied with an ammonia containing complex indus
trial waste gas. The different effects of a defined artificial waste g
as and a complex multicomponent waste gas on the culturable population
of biofilters are discussed.
