Abstract
The O K-edge XANES was applied to the characterization of the oxygen s pecies in the perovskite-type La1-xSrxCoO3-delta of which XPS spectra showed the presence of at least two kinds of oxygen species. By compar ing the PEY, TEY, and FY spectra, the pi and sigma* features of the s urface species were successfully extracted from the complicated spectr a. The result suggested that the surface species was anionic dioxygen which presumably occupied the defect of the oxide.
