M. Zimnalstamawska et al., XANES ANALYSIS OF L-3,L-2 EDGES OF ZINC SELENIDES WITH TRANSITION-METALS, Journal de physique. IV, 7(C2), 1997, pp. 1201-1202
X-ray Absorption Near Edge Structure (XANES) for ternary compounds Zn1
-xTMxSe (TM=Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni) with different concentration x of
transition metals (TM) has been studied with the use of synchrotron ra
diation. XANES measurements were carried out in the fluorescence detec
tion mode using synchrotron radiation from the HE-PGM2 plane grating m
onochromator at BESSY. The L-3.2 edges for Se, Zn and different transi
tion metals (Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni) in Zn1-xTMxSe compounds have been
analyzed. Moreover, the analysis of L-3.2 edges for different transit
ion metals in binary TMSe has also been made. The characteristic featu
re of L,, edges for transition metals containing two white lines was o
bserved. The energy positions of these maxima are in good agreement wi
th the theoretical results. The studies of L-3.2 edges of Se in ternar
y compounds in comparison to the same edge of host crystal (ZnSe) allo
wed us to obtain information about the influence of additional 3d-stat
es of TM on the density of states of ternary compounds.
