The trajectory and dephasing time of an electron accelerated by a circ
ularly polarized laser pulse are determined analytically. The dephasin
g time is proportional to gamma(P)(2)l, where gamma(P) is the Lorentz
factor associated with the pulse speed and l is the pulse length. The
residual dependence of the dephasing time on pulse intensity and elect
ron injection energy is studied in detail.
