D. Blanc et al., EXPERIMENTAL INFRARED DRYING STUDY OF A MODEL WATER-BASED EPOXY-AMINEPAINTING COATED ON IRON SUPPORT, Drying technology, 15(6-8), 1997, pp. 1787-1799
The aim of this work is to study the infrared drying and curing kineti
cs of a model waterbased epoxy-amine painting coated on iron support.
After a presentation of the model painting elaborated in our laborator
y, experimental and theoretical data of the curing kinetics are presen
ted. Then, we described the special laboratory-scale infrared dryer se
t up in our laboratory. This dryer was able to carry on drying experim
ents with uniform infrared flux densities between 0 to 25 kW.m(-2). Th
e study of the painting drying as a function of the infrared flux dens
ity and of the film thickness shows the influence of these two main ph
ysical parameters.
