Abstract
The drying of biomass fuel particles in fixed and moving beds with hot gas or steam is considered both experimentally and theoretically. A s ingle particle drying model is coupled with a model describing heat an d moisture transfer in the gas phase of the bed. The size of the bed t o reach a certain degree of drying depends mostly on the following par ameters. particle size, particle moisture content, gas inlet temperatu re, gas inlet moisture content and gas mass now rate.
