Abstract
A new gallium oxysulfide, Sr2CuGaO3S, has been prepared. It crystalliz es in a novel layered structure of anti-PbO type Cu2S2 sheets alternat ing with gallium perovskite oxide layers. This is the first example of Ga in a square pyramidal coordination geometry in an extended structu re.
