ii geometrical analysis is made for the determination of aspect ratios
and orientation of an ellipsoidal particle by stereo observation. The
stereo observation is made by comparing changes in projected images c
aused by tilting of the particle. The aspect ratios, principal axes an
d orientation of the ellipsoidal particle are obtained from its projec
ted images if we observe the particle from three different directions.
As an example of applications of the present method of analysis, the
shape change of a liquid B2O3 particle induced by plastic deformation
of a Cu matrix is shown.
