Abstract
The classes of the symmetric group L-N are identified by partitions of N. In this work an indexing scheme is presented which provides a dens e enumeration of the classes of L-N. The method is based on a graphica l representation of partitions of N, which also enables the determinat ion of the class corresponding to a given number. (C) 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
