Abstract
The therapy of choice in patients with an acute urinary retention due to urethral stricture is a suprapubic cystostomy. This routine urologi cal procedure can be extremely hazardous in cases with a subcutaneous Vessel protheses crossing the bladder region and a concomitant anticoa gulation therapy. Herein, we discuss the management of this rare clini cal situation in patient with an axillo-bifemoral vessel prosthesis us ing the color duplex sonography for exact localization of the prosthes is.
