Abstract
Simultaneous pancreas-kidney (SPK) transplantation has rarely been per formed in the pediatric population. This report describes successful S PK transplantation in a 12-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy with re nal and pancreatic insufficiency secondary to postdiarrheal hemolytic- uremic syndrome. All reported cases of pediatric SPK transplantation a re reviewed, SPK transplantation is a feasible option in selected pedi atric patients with combined pancreatic and renal insufficiency.
