This paper shows how mixing formulas can be applied to determining eff
ective properties of complex superlattices in the long-wavelength limi
t. In particular; superlattices composed of isotropic chiral layers ar
e examined, and their macroscopic bianisotropic parameters are derived
. The six-vector approach gently simplifies the calculations required
