Abstract
An optical millimeter-wave system at 38 GHz making use of laser diode nonlinearities is proposed. These nonlinearities are employed in conju nction with an optoelectronic transducer designed to emit/receive mill imeter waves. A setup implementation using a BPSK modulation to transm it a 100 kbit/s channel through 5.5 km of single-mode fiber is reporte d. (C) John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
