Abstract
In this investigation the effect of different levels of satiety and fo od intake on sweet taste reactivity was studied. Two foods differing i n nutrient composition and satiating power were used. Sweet taste reac tivity was determined by means of a triangular test, using glucose as the stimulus. This study shows that, immediately after eating, sweet t aste reactivity depends on the levels of the satiety reached and is co rrelated to the sensation of satiety, fullness and desire to eat. Furt hermore, the food determining the highest change in the sweet taste re activity is the more satiating. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Inc.
