L. Pinedagarcia et al., DNA-FINGERPRINTING OF MYCOBACTERIUM-TUBERCULOSIS STRAINS FROM PATIENTS WITH PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS IN HONDURAS, Journal of clinical microbiology, 35(9), 1997, pp. 2393-2397
Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates from 84 patients with pulmonary tu
berculosis in Honduras were characterized by restriction fragment leng
th polymorphism analysis. Seventy-three different IS6110 patterns were
found; 63 of these were unique and 10 were shared by two to three str
ains each. Thus, no ongoing spread of any specific clone of bacteria c
ould be demonstrated.
