The B-11 nuclear magnetic resonance studies of six series of berates i
n their saturated aqueous solutions have been done and their B-11-nmr
chemical shifts have been given. The saturated solutions of berates co
ntaining B2O42-, B4O72-, B6O102- and BO114- units yield separately alm
ost only one-line spectra that their chemical shift of B-11-nmr appear
ing at the same position and the berates containing B5O8- unit, three
main peaks. The forms of polymerised berate ions existing in solution
might be deduced.
