A THERMODYNAMIC STUDY OF MOLECULAR ASSOCIATION BY GAS-LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY - TRILAURYLAMINEALCOHOL SYSTEMS

The results of interactions between trilaurylamine and four alcohols a re presented. A method of calculation has been proposed for the specif ic retention volumes in a particular alkane liquid phase without actua lly carrying out the glc experiments with the said alkane. The equilib rium constants obtained, though large, are systematically so and are c onsistent among themselves and the Delta H values determined from thes e are the anticipated ones and seems to be as good as those obtained b y any other method.
