Absorbable pulmonary artery banding may be a useful method of avoiding
further operation or angioplasty in patients whose underlying lesion
has a natural history of resolution. We report 2 cases of absorbable p
ulmonary artery banding using braided Dexon. In both cases the bands f
unctioned well initially and were completely resorbed after 2 years an
d 6 months, respectively. (C) 1997 by The Society of Thoracic Surgeons
