Abstract
In this paper, the rho factors recommended in a previous paper for tre ating secondary stresses in engineering failure assessment have been e xamined experimentally. The experiments show that, in treating seconda ry stresses, the procedure is more suitable than that in R6 Rev. 3. Th e recommendations presented by Qi are also examined in the present pap er.
