Abstract
Amorphous ribbons with composition Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9 were produced by planar flow casting using different values of the wheel velocity, w ithin the range 20-32 m/s. In order to understand the effect of the qu enching rate on the subsequent degree of nanocrystallization, a detail ed characterisation of as-cast and annealed ribbons at 500 and 540 deg rees C has been performed using Mossbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffr action.
