Abstract
Cathafiline and cathaformine, two novel aporphinoid alkaloids possessi ng a N-(methoxycarbonyl) group, along with six known alkaloids, actino daphnine, cassythine, isoboldine, cassameridine, cassamedine and lysic amine, have been isolated and characterized from Cassytha filiformis. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic ana lyses and from chemical evidence. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd. All r ights reserved.
