Abstract
A triosmium cluster with a novel side-on coordinated imine ligand has been synthesized by the reaction between a triosmium carbene complex a nd ammonia. In the first step of the reaction, an anionic amino comple x is formed which reacts upon treatment with [Ph3C](+) to abstract a h ydride from the amino group to form the imine complex, the molecular s tructure of which has been. determined.
