Ml. Chiozza et al., ANALYSIS OF RESOURCES INVOLVED IN THE HOS PITAL DAY FOR DIABETIC CHILDREN IN ORDER TO PROGRAM ACTIVITIES, Rivista italiana di pediatria, 23(2), 1997, pp. 229-235
The increased attention given to the management of resources has been
confirmed in Italy by a recent regulation(1). This introduce economic
criteria for services given by Hospital Day and ''reimbursed'' by N.H.
S. Nevertheless an analytical definition of the resources involved in
the pediatric activity is mandatory in order to adopt an appropriate s
ystem for planning controlling and financing not only the number of di
urnal hospitalisations but also their quality and complexity. The fact
that is punitive to extend a fee based upon the: examination of adult
in the pediatric sphere has not been considered. The variable ''age''
has a great importance influencing the duration of the hospitalisatio
n, its complexity and interpretation. Aim of our study was to evaluate
human and technological resources involved in the Hospital Day activi
ty of diabetics children to obtaine informations usefulness in order t
o program the future activities.
