Abstract
Landrace pigs and Duroc (father) x Landrace (mother) crossbreds reveal ed after 7-day starvation a higher concentration of cholesterol and fr ee fatty acids in blood plasma, the level of triglycerides increasing only in the blood plasma of crossbreds, and the total lipid level in L andrace pigs. The body weight of starved animals decreased by ca. 12-1 3%.
