Abstract
Patella fracture is a recognized complication of ACL reconstruction wi th an autogenous patella tendon graft. Typically, fracture occurs as a result of a fall. The incidence of fracture is similar to 0.5%. Accel erated rehabilitation protocols can place stress on the patella, espec ially in the initial stages of recovery. Therapists are reminded to ob serve constraints placed on patients by biological tissues, recovering neuromuscular status, and previous level of conditioning. Rehabilitat ion protocols should be revised according to these factors.
