Os. Klyachko et Nd. Ozernyuk, THE EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON THE KINETIC-PROPERTIES OF LACTATE-DEHYDROGENASE FROM EMBRYOS OF VARIOUS FISH SPECIES, Comparative biochemistry and physiology. B. Comparative biochemistry, 107(4), 1994, pp. 593-595
Temperature dependence of apparent K-m for pyruvate of LDH from the em
bryos of seven species of fishes was analyzed. For the embryos of rain
bow trout, autumn cisco and least (Siberian) cisco, the K-m minima wer
e observed at 5-8 degrees C; for zebrafish, carp and goldfish they wer
e at 25-28 degrees C, and for the loach, at 13-16 degrees C. During em
bryonic and larval development of rainbow trout proceeding at graduall
y increasing temperatures, the K-m minimum was found to vary in parall
el with the optimal temperature. For the embryos of rainbow trout whos
e development proceeds at constant temperature, the position of the K-
m minimum at the early gastrula stage and at hatching was the same.
