L. Camilleri et al., INTERRUPTION OF A LEFT AORTIC-ARCH WITH R IGHT DESCENDING THORACIC AORTA DIAGNOSED IN ADULTHOOD, Archives des maladies du coeur et des vaisseaux, 87(5), 1994, pp. 679-681
Evaluation of hypertension, in a 30 years old man, revealed an interru
ption of a left aortic arch beyond the origin of the left subclavian a
rtery, associated with a fight descending thoracic artery. Surgical re
storation of the continuity between the ascending aorta and the low de
scending aorta was successfully achieved by interposition of a graft.
Survival in adulthood without bronchial compression, is explained by t
he absence of ventricular septal defect and patent ductus arteriosus.
