Abstract
A seismic site survey has been carried out in the Caribbean basin to s upport proposed ODP drillings. We show reverse faults in the oceanic d omain, north of Jamaica, related to a left-lateral fault zone. Transpr essive deformation of the southern tip of Beata Ridge suggests compres sional intra-plate deformation of the Caribbean volcanic plateau.
